Intersecting with the Divine

Have you ever had moments that touched you so deeply and profoundly that you know you crossed paths with the divine?

Experiences that can’t be adequately explained with words,  stirring a place inside so pure and true that you were left thinking about it for days.  Encounters that left you comforted, grateful, and joy-filled.

I’ve had those moments in a place of formal worship, like church, but more often in nature, and most profoundly, when groups of strangers gather together to make life better for others.

Human connection, a deep mutual yearning to help each other, to do good for all, and to give kindness and support to strangers and friends alike have proven to be the most profoundly spiritual experiences I’ve had.  The divine is deeply affirmed in my soul when humans love each other.

Did I expect to feel the divine in church?  Yes.  In nature?  Sure.   In a crowd marching?  Nope.  And yet, that was the clearest encounter with the creator I’ve ever had.

The world is wide.  Love is strong.  Maybe that’s the whole point.
